Pistes Solidaires is looking for enthusiastic volunteers ready to engage in eco-construction, gardening, community activities, and green social entrepreneurship in a rural Bulgarian eco-centre.
THE HOST ORGANISATION
Hope for Us was founded in 2008 by young people united by the mission to support the development of children and youth with fewer opportunities. Over the years, the NGO has created and developed an eco-centre called Amorea Garden, located on Konyavska mountain in the village of Bunovo, Bulgaria. All youth projects are currently run from this eco-centre.
The association implements various international projects based on non-formal and informal education principles, focusing on “learning by doing.”
ACTIVITIES OF THE VOLUNTEER
The volunteer will take part in eco-construction tasks, maintain vegetable gardens by mulching, watering, weeding, and build infrastructure for a future botanical garden, such as fences, panels, and paths. They will participate in promoting the association’s activities and projects and take part in community events like workdays, event organisation support, and clean-up activities.
Additionally, the volunteer will work on developing ideas for a green social enterprise.
The village of Bunovo is located 70 km from Sofia, with the nearest town Kyustendil 20 km away, offering hospitals, supermarkets, local markets, post office, banks, pharmacies, shops, and hot mineral baths.
