Pistes Solidairesis looking for passionate volunteers who want to engage in environmental protection, intercultural exchange, and creative projects combining photography and ecological awareness in Iceland.
THE HOST ORGANISATION
SEEDS Iceland is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation founded in 2005. It focuses on promoting environmental protection, intercultural understanding, and peace through volunteer work on social, cultural, and environmental projects in Iceland. SEEDS offers opportunities to live, learn, understand, and experience while sharing and cooperating with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
ACTIVITIES OF THE VOLUNTEER
Volunteers will participate in missions offered by SEEDS camps 72, 75, and 76:
Camp 72: Environmental Awareness & Action (12/09 – 20/09)
Collaborate with local environmental organisations, work in the forest section and vegetable greenhouses of the EcoVillage, contribute to a national campaign raising awareness about ocean pollution and plastic waste, and assist with gardening, house renovation, and other centre maintenance tasks.
Camp 75: Environment & Photography – Film (21/09 – 30/09)
Take part in workshops and feedback sessions on technical photography settings and composition, explore and engage with Icelandic culture through photography, and join excursions to explore the city and Iceland’s stunning natural attractions.
Camp 76: Environment & Photography – Imagine Peace (01/10 – 10/10)
Participate in workshops and feedback sessions focusing on photography technicalities and composition with an emphasis on the theme “Imagine Peace.”
