The context:

Fly2Work, coordinated by FI-Group based in Barcelona, aims to establish what the current environment is like for young people on the labour market, what instabilities they may face and to analyse their expectations, as well as their relationship with the value of work.

To better understand the current situation on the labor market, Pistes-Solidaires has carried out an in-depth study and research into the employability of young people. To complete this research, we surveyed groups directly or indirectly concerned by this issue: employers, young people, youth workers and youth professionals, institutional establishments (e.g., training centers, local associations). The project partners from Portugal, Spain, and Italy, have also completed the research in their respective countries, and nearly 200 people were interviewed in total.

What is the purpose of this research?

We know that the first few months of new employment with a company are decisive in determining whether an employee wants to stay or not. This research is enabling us to find out more about young people’s expectations so that we can develop better tools to optimise the integration of new employees. However, involving the other groups is just as relevant, as they all play a key role in integrating young people into the labor market.

The objectives:
-Provide employers with the means to make real post-recruitment decisions and make objective choices right up to the end of a trial period.

-Create a sense of commitment and attachment to the company and lay down the foundations for building loyalty between a new employee and the company.

-Help new employee quickly adapt and become competent in their role.

-As a jobseeker, to become more attractive for an employer.
