EMPOWERHER

Promote the inclusion of migrant women through empowerment and skills development.

Project period:
November 2024 – October 2026
Coordinator: Wisamar Bildungsgesellschaft gemeinnützige GmbH (Germany)
Partners of the project: Pistes Solidaires (France), APIDI (Portugal), OnProjects (Spain), DIE (Germany), ComCy (Chypre)
Website: empowermigrantwomen.eu

The context:

In today’s ever-changing labor market, many migrant women face significant challenges in accessing opportunities that match their potential. From language barriers to navigating unfamiliar systems, these obstacles often hinder their integration and career advancement. Additionally, Europe is experiencing a growing skills shortage in several sectors, highlighting the need to attract diverse talents.

EmpowerHer aims to equip migrant women with the skills and support they need to overcome the specific challenges they encounter in their pursuit of meaningful employment. Through targeted training programs, innovative digital tools, and partnerships with key stakeholders, we remove barriers and create opportunities for sustainable social and economic inclusion.

Our mission is to establish support pathways that benefit women, organizations, and society as a whole.

The objectives:

The EmpowerHer project aims to promote the empowerment of adult women, especially those from disadvantaged or vulnerable backgrounds, by strengthening their digital, social, and personal skills. Its ambition is to foster their social and professional inclusion through innovative, accessible, and tailored educational approaches that meet their specific needs.

The project also seeks to train adult educators in inclusive teaching methods while developing educational resources such as training modules, interactive tools, and a serious game. Finally, EmpowerHer is part of a European cooperation effort, bringing together multiple partners around issues of gender equality, training, and inclusion.

The results:

The EmpowerHer project plans several concrete results, some of which are already available:

– TRAINING PROGRAM FOR EDUCATORS: A six-module course designed to equip adult educators with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively support migrant women in developing their soft skills.
– INTERACTIVE WEB APP FOR MIGRANT WOMEN: A user-friendly platform featuring fun learning activities to improve soft skills, enabling migrant women to take control of their skill development journey in a supportive online environment.
– INTEGRATION TOOLKIT: A collection of resources and guidelines to support inclusive hiring practices and workplace integration.

All these results will be centralized on the project’s website and made freely available to educators, participants, and interested stakeholders.
