Pistes Solidaires is looking for volunteers to help inform and educate the local community about opportunities offered by the EU.
THE HOST ORGANISATION
The Associação Juvenil de Deão (AJD), founded in 1997 and based in Viano do Castelo, Portugal, is committed to social inclusion, equality, active citizenship, and youth development, especially in rural areas. AJD runs educational, cultural, sports, and artistic activities that promote youth participation, intergenerational solidarity, and fight discrimination. The association operates through three main pillars: social intervention projects, a community school offering creative and intercultural activities, and a communication department that highlights AJD’s actions through various media.
ACTIVITIES
The youth exchange focuses on empowering young people to become active citizens. Through workshops, discussions, and collaborative activities, participants explore topics such as democracy, human rights, social inclusion, and volunteering. The aim is to create a space for sharing experiences, reflection, and co-creating solutions for more inclusive communities.
