Pistes Solidaires is looking for participants to join a youth exchange exploring sustainable agriculture, local traditions, and social inclusion through the culture of lemons in Sicily.
THE HOST ORGANISATION
Associazione Culturale Usamborgia, based in Avola, Sicily, is active in the fields of youth, education, and culture. Since 2018, it has been creating opportunities for young people to learn and experience intercultural exchange through both local and European projects. It organises youth exchanges, training courses for youth workers, international cooperation projects, and local activities that encourage civic participation, creativity, and social inclusion. Usamborgia combines formal, non-formal, and informal learning methods, offering practical workshops, field experiences, and exchanges of good practices among young people from different countries. The organisation is especially committed to sustainable entrepreneurship, ecology, the promotion of local traditions, and intercultural dialogue. Thanks to a network of local partners, including in agriculture and crafts, it connects young people with local stakeholders to create concrete, impactful projects.
ACTIVITIES
The youth exchange “Lemon – Back to Nature” invites participants to rediscover the culture of lemons and local agricultural traditions. Through practical workshops, meetings with local experts, and intercultural activities, participants will explore sustainable agriculture, social inclusion, and well-being, while developing innovative and eco-friendly entrepreneurial ideas inspired by local resources and traditions. The project aims to discover sustainable agriculture and rural professions, promote sustainable entrepreneurship rooted in local culture, encourage social inclusion and well-being through collaborative activities, and foster intercultural exchange and active citizenship.
