Capacity building: age of migration

Did you know that the Erasmus+ programme gives the possibility to develop projects in the whole world? Pistes-Solidaires and its partners know it for a while, which has led us to apply for a new Capacity building project that has been granted by the EACEA.

The name of the project? Age of Migration.
The partner countries? Colombia, Croatia, France, Uganda, Uruguay and Spain.

What will we do during the project lifetime?
This project has different objectives.
First of all, it aims at raising awareness among the citizens of the different partner countries (and even beyond) about migration and to promote mutual understanding. It also aims at developing employability of young people by developing several volunteering projects between Europe, Africa and Latin America.

In order to achieve the different goals, each partner will gather youth workers who are interested in learning more about intercultural learning and in supporting volunteers during their experience.

A one-week training course will therefore take place in June in Lorca (Spain) where the partners will share tools and practices about intercultural learning.
One innovative tool will be used and presented by Pistes-Solidaires: story mapping to help people to talk about their experience and life in order to facilitate the process of sharing.
Then, will come the time for volunteering activities. In total, it will be more than 20 young people between 18 and 30 who will get the change to spend between 3 and 5 months abroad.
Among other activities, all of them will have to collect stories and share migration experiences of people they will meet in order to understand better what their realities are and how youth workers can support them to be better included in the hosting countries.

At the end of the project, all the youth workers who will have been involved in the project will get more tools and experience in working in the field of intercultural learning and with migrants.

Really soon, the calls for volunteers will be published! Be ready!
