Place: Nansana, Uganda
Period: 01/08/2025 – 31/12/2025
Cazalla Intercultural is looking for 2 motivated volunteers to support inclusive education and empowerment of children with special needs in the suburbs of Kampala.
THE HOST ORGANISATION
Uganda Pioneers Association (UPA) will host the volunteers in collaboration with two community centers: Centre for Special Abilities (CeSA) and Doreah Child Care Uganda (DCCU). CeSA works with children who have dyslexia, while DCCU focuses on children with sensory and mobility impairments. The goal is to build an inclusive society where all children can reach their full potential and live independently. Volunteers will be welcomed as part of the team and involved in everyday learning and care activities.
ACTIVITIES OF THE VOLUNTEER
Volunteers will take part in educational and creative activities such as supporting the preparation of learning materials, participating in indoor and outdoor games, reading and storytelling, and co-organising music, dance and drama sessions. They will help foster inclusion, confidence and well-being among children while engaging with the local community. Volunteers may also be invited to contribute to awareness-raising activities promoting children’s rights and health. Tailored training will be provided to ensure that the activities are adapted to each child’s needs.
